Crossroads motor tours: program of the Thailand-Tours 2005
Starting point is Chiang Mai, the "Rose of the North".
You will have to arrange your own flights to and from Chiang Mai. We pick you up from the airport and in the evening there is a briefing about the tour and we get to know each other during a nice Thai dinner. The next day we will do the beautiful Samoeng loop so you can get used to your bike.
After one more night in your comfortable hotel in Chiang Mai we start our tour. First to Mae Hong Son province near the Burmese border with beautiful forest, caves, hot springs and many traditional villages. After that to Nan, the forgotten province, with fascinating roads. Also to Chiang Rai province where during a speed boat ride on the majestic Mekong River we will visit an island belonging to Laos. Total distance is between 900 and 2000 km depending on the tour you choose. Our tours will be lead by a very experienced English speaking tour guide on a motor bike and a car with the entire luggage driven by a mechanic.
On the routing we take there is hardly any traffic. Remember to drive on the left side and beware of slow traffic, buffalos and elephants. Thai hospitals are well equipped and clean but you will sleep better in a hotel bed.
We urge you not to be reckless. Please do not endanger yourself or others. Drugs are strictly forbidden and also the beer has to wait until the evening.
Accommodation
We will spend the night in hotels and guesthouses which are ideal for our tours. They are cozy family run places which are clean, comfortable, have western style toilets, good beds and hot showers. You will feel at home immediately. Please do not expect luxury high rise hotels because we travel in the part of the country where most tourists do not go.
